The Swiss Ambassador Andre Regli (left) invited us together with his secretary to the ski resort Valle Nevado. From our base cape, the Swiss Residence in Santiago, the powder snow is only 45′ away. The mountain above the ski area has already an altitude of 5400 m.
For Salina it was the first time on a ski lift, the first time over 3000 m and her first ski experience. Also Sabine was really keen to ski. Since the start in Switzerland, where we climbed non stop every highest TOP of each of the 26 departments, she did not have the opportunity to ski.
In the morning we enjoyed the knee deep fresh powder (see our tracks on the hill behind us) and the view down to Chile’s capital, Santiago.
We enjoyed it so much to ski in this wonderful mountain range and to have once more the direct contact with nature. Thanks so much Mister Ambassador to make this dream come through.
After such a wonderful and sportive day, stretching and food is important; – Salina’s first real food on the 13th = banana.
During the week we have had great fun with our school presentations in Santiago. Now, we are looking forward to get the ideas for a green planet from all the schools we visited. – Thanks again to the Swiss Ambassador for the invitation to stay at his house.
Note: We met 3 journalists this week. Article will be published in Swiss info, Mercurio and Condor.
