We like to inform all our friends that on the 6th of February our dear “Nani”, great-grandmother and oldest member, Berty, died with 96 just 10 days after our youngest member, 5-month-old Vital got baptized on the Mount Pizol. Watching the deep non-verbal connection and relationship between the oldest – and the youngest family member some weeks ago, I got a glance of the essence of life.

You may know her through our stories? She was an extraordinarily strong woman, a loving person with a great humor, a very good cook, a nature lover and an inspiration for all of us. We thank Nani, especially for her daily prayers. She was following us in her thoughts, where ever we went.

Tonight we heard that she passed away. We are thankful for every single moment with her, but it hurts to be far away in Iceland. I went for a walk and was amazed by the “Northern Lights” as her last farewell and the welcome to her new life. – She promised me to keep being an angel for all of us, – also in Heaven.
