The latest media coverage: RTS evening news: “Une famille suisse navigue depuis 25 ans pour sensibiliser les enfants du monde à la protection de l’environnement“
On the 5th of October 2024, TOPtoTOP was 1st time on the Green Carpet. It was our World Premiere at the 20th International Zurich Film Festival 2024.

We had a great time. Thanks again to Victorinox for the fantastic aperitif after the world premiere of “Home is the Ocean”.

Many thanks also to our supporters Rent a Bike and Swiss Youth Hostels.
A big thank you also to all our friends and TOPtoTOP members who accompanied us to the world premiere or came to the other screenings.
Thanks also to Livia and Mirjam. You have created a unique movie. We always encourage everyone to experience nature outdoors directly and not separately from a screen (television) or canvas (cinema), but you have achieved something impossible for us: you bring nature, the mountains and the sea into the cinema without barriers. Bravo! Bravo!
It was wonderful to see people who became friends on the expedition. Like the former ambassador Andre Regli, with whom we realized a sheltered workshop for young people in a village in Patagonia 20 years ago.

Credits for pics to Tim Hughes. We had a lot of interviews in the last few days. Here is one with Tele Zürich.

Special thanks also to the TOPtoTOP members who accompanied us on the hike up the Uetliberg as part of the 25th anniversary of the TOPtoTOP expedition last Sunday, just after the Premiere.
During this time of joy and success, we fondly remembered founding member Peter Storm, who passed away unexpectedly in 2023. He remains the most optimistic and positive person we met. Without his courage and optimism, the TOPtoTOP expedition – and so “Home is the Ocean” – would never have become a reality.
Thanks again to Stefan Baumann for hosting us in his little house during the festival.
Here are some pics of the 4-day journey back from Zurich to Pachamama in the Norwegian Arctic:

Thanks again to “rent a bike” to make us moving around.
It is unbelievable how complicated it is to plan and then book a train journey from and back to the Arctic. Many thanks, Eric from the Swiss Federal Railways for your support. Thanks also to Lisbeth & Hans Bruhn, where we were able to bivouac in the cellar in Copenhagen when we could go no further.
Unfortunately, the train from Copenhagen was not operating and we were sent to Malmö. Eric was of big help again to find a solution so that we do not miss the night train at 18:08 from Stockholm to Narvik. We had to sprint in Göteborg main station like in a combat mission because we had only 3’ left from platform 13 to 3! Good news: we managed to catch the train. Bad news: We sacrificed some liters of Swiss honey from Stefan when our 20l container fell to the ground…all sticky now….we tried to save as much as possible with plastic bags…

Now back home on Pachamama meeting the Orcas soon and hope to get some great DNA samples…
