We are proud to announce a new chapter in the TOPtoTOP Expedition: our fleet is growing! Alongside our trusted mothership Pachamama, the 35-foot steel sister ship “Naomi” is now ready for action.

Under the command of Noé—who just successfully completed his captain’s exam—Naomi has been fully restored by all of us, – freshly painted, and equipped with the latest safety gear. Together with Noé, we dedicated ourselves to preparing Naomi for the challenges ahead, ensuring she is as resilient and ready as her crew and mother boat Pachamama.

This marks a milestone for TOPtoTOP: the next generation is stepping into our footprints, and our mission to “Save the Planet” is now carried by a fleet. We are united under our motto: Explore – Inspire – Act.

Noé, Salina, Andri, and Alegra—the children of Dario and Sabine—are now leading the “Save the Arctic” campaign. Both Naomi and Pachamama have recently been active in the Arctic, collecting microplastic and eDNA samples to study biodiversity, and organizing beach cleanups on remote Arctic shores.

Journalists have joined us on several occasions, and soon you’ll see reports about our work on Pro7’s Galileo and Deutsche Welle.
Currently, we are anchored in Tromsø, where we welcomed our latest volunteer and teacher Jane Helen Kaaen on board.

Our journey continues tomorrow to the remote island of Bjørnøya, then on to Jan Mayen and Greenland. After that, Pachamama will make her way via Iceland and the Faroe Islands to the Norwegian coast, reaching Hamburg for the German premiere of our film, “Home is the Ocean” on the 15th of September.
We are proud to see the next generation carrying our mission forward, with TOPtoTOP evolving into a true fleet for the planet.

TOPtoTOP Arctic Base Update:
Powerhouse in the Arctic – A Milestone for Sustainability!
We are thrilled to announce that our Powerhouse is now more or less complete, featuring the solar roof, facade panels, and railing from 3S! Thanks to the fantastic collaboration with 3S and Xeeo, we are now producing an incredible amount of 5 kW/h electricity—making this the first project of its kind in the Arctic. We are now fully self-sufficient and can continue our mission even more sustainably!

Of course, we know that to generate even more energy, some trees will need to be removed. However, Mia insisted that we first plant new apple trees—trees she lovingly grew herself. A beautiful example of how progress and nature can go hand in hand.
Stay tuned for more updates from our adventure at the Arctic Circle! …or even come and stay in the TOPtoTOP Arcitc Base or volunteer on one of the 2 boats.
