Advent – a season of gratitude

Sharing knowledge

Sabine has dedicated herself to sharing her expertise through public talks and presentations in schools. We’re truly thankful for her willingness to bring real-world environmental knowledge directly to students and communities. Her presentations help inspire curiosity and understanding about our natural world.

In times like these, when environmental awareness matters, Sabine’s quiet efforts to connect knowledge across different landscapes feel meaningful. This educational work reflects what we believe in—fostering understanding and respect for the environments we inhabit.

Skimo achievements

We’re pleased to share that Noe earned a victory in the skimountaineering sprint at the Norwegian National Championships on December 7th. It’s nice to see his dedication pay off on such a competitive stage.

Alegra has also developed impressively in her racing. At just 14 years old, she won the Night Attack in the U19 women’s category, competing among nearly 500 participants. She also claimed victory in the Sprint at the Swiss Cup in Davos on December 20th, 2025. We’re grateful to Intersport Titlis for adjusting her skis, Colltex for the fast skins, and Victorinox for their general support.

What’s encouraging is that both Noe and Alegra are becoming ambassadors for sport and the environment through their participation and commitment.

Personal growth and support

Salina is working as a ski instructor at the Prime Ski School in Engelberg, building on her successful J+S ski instructor course completed in Andermatt. This chapter represents her resilience and determination to return to what she loves, especially after her difficult time in the desert (see previous blog).

Dario continues to make steady health progress, and we’re grateful for the support his friends Bruno, Rolf and Werner have shown him. These quiet gestures of friendship and help matter deeply.

Enjoying the outdoors together

Mia, just turned 10 on the 16th of November in Lyngseidet, and Vital have been out on the slopes regularly. Their participation at the Night Attack Race at Flumserberg, together with a total of 13 TOPTOTOP members, reminds us of what truly matters—the simple joy of being outdoors together with our community.

Alegra won the Night Attack in the U19 women’s category. 13 TOPtoTOP-members were participating; – the youngest just 5 month old, the oldest 68 years old.

Meaningful academic work

Andri is currently completing a J+S ski instructor course in Valais. Beyond that, he has just submitted a thoughtful paper comparing avalanche danger patterns between the Arctic (Lyngen region) and the Alps (Engelberg) in times of climate change; – work that bridges understanding across different mountain environments.

In closing

What we appreciate most is not just individual achievements, but the way our community supports one another; – through education, competition, recovery, learning, and shared experiences in the mountains. These are the quiet moments and steady efforts that matter most. We’re thankful for everyone’s contributions, large and small, and look forward to continuing together.

Merry Christmas to all.
