Between stormy seas, snowy mountains, and the dream of a sustainable future
Tonight, on April 3, 2026 at 20:55, our film Home is the Ocean will be shown on Swiss Television, and on April 4 at 13:00 it will also be broadcast on RTS1. For us, this film is more than a documentary. It tells the story of a life shaped by wind, water, mountains, and the deep belief that great adventures can happen in harmony with nature.

At the moment, we are in the Lyngenfjord in Northern Norway, where winter still holds the landscape in its grip and the sea can change its mood in an instant. Early in March, Noe experienced one of those moments that remind us how powerful nature can be. In rough seas and 50-knot winds, water entered the boat because the front hatch was not fully watertight.

On board was also the Hartmann family, including little Robin, only six months old, on his very first journey at sea. It was an intense experience, but in the end everything went well, and Captain Noe, together with Salina, brought the second TOPtoTOP sailing boat safely to Lyngseidet.

Only a few days later, life had shifted again from storm to inspiration. On Tuesday, Noe went out with local children to Årøya Island, sharing the joy of discovery from the water and creating exactly the kind of connection with youth that has always been at the heart of TOPtoTOP.

The rest of us stayed ashore and trained for the Patrouille des Glaciers, the legendary ski mountaineering race from Zermatt to Verbier. Salina, Andri, and Dario are planning to travel to Switzerland to take part in this race on April 17.

Until May, ski tourers are warmly welcome at the TOPtoTOP Base here in the north. This Arctic base is not only a place to stay, but also a hub for our Save the Arctic campaign and a meeting point for people who want to experience nature, exchange ideas, and work together for a more sustainable future.
In May, the rest of the family will follow to Switzerland for a very special time together. We will celebrate Alegra’s confirmation in Engelberg, and at the same time mark Sabine’s and Dario’s 25th wedding anniversary on May 10. Shortly afterwards, there will also be a chance to meet again during the Ocean Film Tour, which will travel through Switzerland in May with films dedicated to the sea, adventure, and environmental awareness.
After these reunions, we will return back to the Pachamama anchored in Alesund, our mother ship, from where the next world voyage will begin. That journey will lead us toward the final TOP of our record project, the “7 Summits non-stop around-the-world expedition with human power and nature’s force”: Mount Vinson, the highest mountain in Antarctica. With this final step, we want to show that even the biggest dreams can be pursued with respect for the natural world.
The Pachamama will continue reaching out to young people around the globe through school visits and educational programs, inspiring them to care for our planet and shape a better future. At the same time, Naomi, together with Captain Noe, will continue the Save the Arctic campaign in the far north.

We are still looking for people who would like to get involved at the TOPtoTOP Arctic Base, and also for teachers interested in joining our school programs aboard the Pachamama. The expedition continues — from the Arctic to Antarctica — powered by nature, human strength, and the shared hope that together, we can inspire the next generation to protect our one blue planet. – Join us as a volunteer – join TOPtoTOP – support us!
