Since the start of the TOPtoTOP Global Climate Expedition more than 2 decades ago, the goal has been to reach the 7 Summits non-stop around the world using human power and the power of nature.
Since then, 6 of the 7 Summits have been climbed across the 7 seas. We have explored great solutions and inspired thousands of students to take action for our planet’s climate. We have recognized that the polar regions are suffering the most. In recent years, we have realized that the Arctic is the womb of our planet, which was the reason we launched our “SAVE the Arctic” campaign.
With our new project “The Magic 8” we want to complete our route in the form of an 8 to connect all oceans from pole to pole and climb the highest peaks in the Arctic and Antarctic to express the importance of high latitudes and altitudes for our planet’s climate.
Our ultimate goal will be to once again inspire thousands of students on the road and via social media to take action and lead by example with our clean-ups.
The first phase this year will take place in the Arctic on the Norwegian coast, Svalbard and Greenland. The second phase is the journey to the South Pacific to reach Antarctica in a third phase.
Join us for some time on the first leg this year (March – June) between Bergen and the North Cape? Don’t forget your life jacket, skis and a garbage bag for the clean-ups. Please note: In case the sea conditions are not good, we will switch to the two parallel running projects “SAVE the ARCTIC” (TOPtoTOP Arctic Base in the Lyngen Alps at 70 degrees North) or “Swiss TOPtoTOP 2.0
